Drought declarations - Queensland series

This data series includes datasets showing current full and part local government area drought declarations and duration of historic drought declarations across Queensland. Drought declarations are made by the Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries based on the advice of Local Drought Committees (LDCs). LDCs will recommend a declaration when an area meets the Queensland Government's drought criteria, principally a one in 10 year rainfall deficiency, amongst other significant factors.Additionally, there may be a number of Individually Droughted Properties (IDPs) outside the shires shown. For details, plus a map and description of the current drought declarations, go to The Long Paddock web site: https://www.longpaddock.qld.gov.au/drought/drought-declarations/ .
